In 1997, Allen Taylor joined the Texas Army National Guard. Activated in August 2004 with 36th Infantry Division, he served at Taqaddum Air Base from January to December 2005.

As officer in charge of the battalion operations center, he managed to find time to write a little poetry. Those poems, and many more, are captured in Rumsfeld's Sandbox

Personal, political, historical, sometimes erotic, and provocative, Allen Taylor shares his life in lyrical explosions reminiscent of the Romantics and the Modernist poets.

Enter Rumsfeld's Sandbox to read and listen to poems in the poet's own voice. You can also watch videos and download poems to share with your friends. Allen Taylor's poetic voice is versatile, and he is not afraid to experiment with language in bold new ways. Join Rumsfeld's Sandbox today.
